Flagler County Primary Election Turnout Historically Below 30 Percent
Flagler County's Supervisor of Elections office reported that voter turnout for primary elections in the county has averaged less than 30 percent. In the 2024 Primary Election, 27,459 of 93,969 registered voters cast ballots, resulting in a turnout rate of 29.20 percent. Republican voters turned out at 34.80 percent, Democrats at 33.74 percent, and voters with no party affiliation at 14.34 percent.
According to the elections office, the county's turnout exceeded the state average for primary elections. In the upcoming 2026 Primary Election, all registered voters in Flagler County will be eligible to vote in Circuit Judge and School Board races, while Palm Coast voters will also have City Council seats on the ballot. Officials noted that several local races could be decided in the August primary rather than the November general election.
The Flagler County Supervisor of Elections office is encouraging residents to verify their voter registration, review sample ballots, and update their address or party affiliation ahead of the primary. Additional information is available at flaglerelections.gov.
