Palm Coast Man Arrested for Indecent Exposure at Coffee Shop Drive-Thru
A Palm Coast man's coffee run took a disturbing turn when he allegedly decided to give drive-thru employees a view they definitely didn't order with their morning shift. Cory White, 29, now faces indecent exposure charges after what investigators say was an extremely inappropriate visit to Ellianos Coffee on May 13.
An Unwanted Side of Extra Cream
The Flagler County Sheriff's Office responded to the popular coffee spot after multiple employees reported that a male customer had exposed his genitals while placing his order at the drive-thru window. Because apparently, some people think "exposing yourself to strangers" is a legitimate way to start someone's workday.
According to the incident report, the first employee noticed White making inappropriate gestures through the window. Sensing something was very wrong, the employee wisely stepped back and immediately alerted a coworker to handle the situation. When the second employee approached the window to investigate, they got an eyeful they wish they hadn't, reporting that White's penis was fully exposed.
In what can only be described as the most uncomfortable customer service moment imaginable, the second employee actually served White his coffee order just to get him to leave. With other vehicles stacking up in the drive-thru line behind him, the employee made the quick decision to complete the transaction and send the suspect on his way.
Technology Strikes Again
Here's a pro tip for anyone considering committing a crime: maybe don't use your rewards card. Investigators tracked down White after discovering that the phone number he provided while ordering was connected to a family rewards account. Nothing says "caught red-handed" quite like being busted by your quest for loyalty points.
Surveillance footage from the business further confirmed that White's vehicle was present at the location on the date of the incident. When investigators showed the victim a photo lineup, they positively identified White as the man who had exposed himself.
Not His First Rodeo
Detectives made contact with White at his residence on May 19, six days after the incident. During questioning, White admitted he had been at the Ellianos Coffee location and confirmed he interacted with two employees that day. However, he denied exposing himself to anyone at the drive-thru window.
The denial might have carried more weight if it weren't for White's criminal history. According to the Sheriff's Office, this wasn't White's first brush with indecent exposure charges. He had previously pleaded guilty to a similar offense in 2023, making this alleged incident part of an unfortunate pattern.
The case serves as yet another reminder that coffee shop employees deal with enough already without having to worry about customers who can't keep their pants on. White now faces criminal charges, and one can only hope those Ellianos employees received some serious hazard pay that day.
