Six graduating seniors from Flagler County Schools were honored at a special ceremony in Palm Coast, where they received the prestigious Robert J. Beck Military Service Honor Cord in recognition of their commitment to serving the United States.

The distinguished recipients include Austin Gaydon, who is joining the U.S. Coast Guard, and three students entering the U.S. Army: Connor E. Jones, Adrian Szarwacki through ROTC, and Kaytrevion Harvey-Smith. Additionally, Olivia Delgato and April Goebel will be serving in the U.S. Marine Corps. Gaydon, Jones, Szarwacki, and Goebel attend Matanzas High School, while Harvey-Smith and Delgato are students at Flagler Palm Coast High School.

The Robert J. Beck Military Service Honor Cord Ceremony celebrates Flagler County seniors who have demonstrated their dedication to military service by enlisting in a branch of the U.S. Armed Forces, gaining acceptance to a Military Service Academy, or committing to participate in ROTC programs. This recognition allows these outstanding students to wear their honor cords with pride during their upcoming graduation ceremonies, symbolizing their patriotic commitment to defending the nation.

Doug Glasco addressed the honorees and their families as the ceremony's guest speaker, helping to mark this significant milestone in the students' lives.
