AdventHealth Palm Coast Earns "A" Safety Grade From Leapfrog Group
AdventHealth Palm Coast has received an "A" Hospital Safety Grade from The Leapfrog Group, a national nonprofit organization that evaluates patient safety performance at hospitals across the United States.
The biannual assessment evaluates hospitals on more than 30 measures of patient safety, including infection rates, surgical complications, medication safety practices, and protocols designed to prevent medical errors. The Leapfrog Group assigns letter grades ranging from "A" to "F" to help patients and families make informed decisions about their healthcare.
The organization's grading system is based on publicly available data and a voluntary survey submitted by participating hospitals. Only hospitals meeting Leapfrog's criteria for transparency and data quality receive a grade.
According to AdventHealth Palm Coast, the safety grade reflects contributions from staff across the hospital, including clinical teams providing bedside care, pharmacy personnel managing medication protocols, environmental services staff maintaining facility standards, and administrative personnel overseeing quality improvement initiatives.
The Leapfrog Group updates its Hospital Safety Grades twice annually, in spring and fall. The ratings are available to the public at no cost on the organization's website.
