April 6, 2026

K-9 Mako of the Flagler County Sheriff's Office has advanced to the semifinal round of the Florida Sheriffs Association's K-9 March Madness Tournament, an online voting competition featuring law enforcement dogs from across the state.

Mako won the previous round with 59% of the vote, which the Flagler County Sheriff's Office said was the highest percentage of any dog in that round of the tournament.

Voting for the semifinal round opened today at 9 a.m. through the Florida Sheriffs Association. The tournament allows the public to vote for their preferred K-9 in a bracket-style format.
