Bunnell Library Offers Free Preschool Storytime Sessions in April

Young children in Flagler County will have the opportunity to explore the world of stories, songs, and learning this April through a series of preschool story-times at the Bunnell Library @ Nexus.

The Flagler County Public Library system will host Preschool Storytime sessions on three consecutive Tuesdays—April 7, 14, and 21—with programs offered at both 10:30 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. to accommodate families' schedules.

What to Expect

Designed specifically for children ages 3 to 5, each storytime session combines singing, interactive reading, and hands-on educational activities. The interactive format keeps young learners engaged while introducing them to new concepts and vocabulary in an age-appropriate setting.

Why Storytime Matters for Early Development

Regular storytime participation offers significant developmental benefits for preschool-aged children. These sessions help build early literacy skills by exposing children to new words, sentence structures, and storytelling patterns that form the foundation for reading success.

Beyond literacy, storytime also strengthens social-emotional development as children learn to sit with peers, take turns, and participate in group activities. The combination of music, movement, and stories supports cognitive development while helping children develop listening skills and attention spans—all critical building blocks for kindergarten readiness.
